MiniMania Sale: Got Myself a Skid Plate...

...I couldn't post in this thread:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...mania-com.html

...so,
here I am.

Just wanted to say thanks to MiniMania for the FriendsGiving!

Took the sale oppo to get myself a proper sump guard because my car is lowered and I'd feel more secure with the extra protection, plus coming from Saabworld I have a fetish for rallyesque type of accessories and skidplates are cool methinks.

Sumpguard on my old Saab:

It was a factory accessory and made from thick aluminium.

Mudflaps are also cool to me but sadly they just don'y really work on the R50 series in my opinion.

Saab mudflaps are sexy:
(first pic ain't my car because this one is immaculate, I had the same style mudflaps though)

Please pardon the off topic rambling.

Anyways,
I wanted the black ULTRIK skidplate and that's what I got.

Heavy friggin' duty!

Although it's pretty portly at 22.5 pounds,
I guess I'll just eat the added weight with no worries as I'm justa dailydriverdude anyways,
but I may possibly drill more holes in the Colin Chapman philosophy fashion of
ADD LIGHTNESS.

I have one of these. They are bomb proof. I had an off this fall at auto-x where I ended up in a chainlink fence and driving over two of the fence posts in the process. The skip plate and the WMW X-brace protected the underside of the car - nothing busted or ripped out from underneath the car.

Thanks for sharing.

That story inspires my confidence that I made the right choice as there's several different options to choose from.

I was looking for bomb proof.

MiniMania is the only stateside supplier that I'm aware of that offers the Ultrik skidplate and it's always a pleasure to patronize a NAM site sponsor.

Cheers!
