I have those same wheels (the ones from the rear of the enduro car).
One thing with that front fender: Is that en external suspention resevoir poking out? Because that seems like an excellent idea for a quick tune-up on a pit stop.
I though it was interesting that they kept the OEM tach, speedo and column stalks.

Yeah, that'll keep moisture out!
I think that is an absorbent "diaper" to catch overflow. It appears to be rubberbanded over the cap.

WOW Good catch! That does look nice! Also notice the mesh for the true ram air intake next to the IC?

Also what the hell is that little neon tube looking thing going across the grille?

ummm. There is no dash. They are mounted directly to the roll cage...next to the air vent hoses. This is a full "off-road only" vehicle.

If I got a chance to ride in that thing, I think an absorbent "diaper" for me would be a more important item!

On a closer look, it does appear that the filler cap is hiding under there. I wonder why there would be a need to have a makeshift secondary overflow catch mechanism in place?

I was amazed by that, too!!! I was scanning through the pictures and was expecting some really immature comments, but was rather surprised by their maturity and appreciation for great cars.

Here's what I've been able to find out about the car from the makers.

As for the details the car is a typical 245 hp engine with a dif and big brakes to move and stop 1772 lbs on mini. As for the chassis it has a fabricated roll cage including 2" carbon tubes supporting the bulk heads of the car. The rear suspension has been converted to push rod suspension with adjustable progression in the bell cranks. Sponsored by Ohlins suspension. Completely fabricated rear suspension pick up points. It also takes 10 seconds to fill a 22 gallons of fuel cell.
I'm working on finding out more specifics. Especially about that "typical" 245 hp engine.

Yea, sign me up for that "typical 245 hp engine". MINI must have made a slight error on my order...

Update

"Typical" refers to the fact that the mods they race with are going to be the mods that they eventually sell as a package. So far engine mods include: 15% pulley, head, header, cam, and airbox. No ECU and no other electrical (stock spark plug wires, no injection timing, etc). The primary factors going into the engine performance mods were driveability and reliability.

Bay Bridge Motorsports (BBM) did most of that extensive carbon fiber fabrication themselves.

After hearing more about the car first hand, I'm more impressed than I was when I saw the first pictures and at that point I was already giving them a lot of credit. It just sounds like an absolutely top notch effort.

All the best to the BBM MINI at the 25 Hours of Thunderhill on December 3-5.

Just for comparison purposes, the MINIUSA drag car weighed 1700 lbs, but didn't have a roll cage. It was also a cooper, not an S, so it didn't have the additional weight of the supercharger and the intercooler hardware.

When I saw the car he was working on the exhaust. As for rice, this is not a rice car, but a serious race car
