How much is my r53 worth?

im curious as to what a fair price would be for my MINI. Is the KBB a good reference? Everyone seems to sell them way above their price lists.

2004 JCW
clean title manual
Very very clean in and out
76k miles
extensive service records
basically unmodified
only thing wrong is a proposed (by MINI) leaking oil pan gasket (nothing leaking on floor)

In very good condition kbb says $5500. Seems a bit low doesn’t it? What can it realistically sell for? I’d like to keep it but need a truck.

It's worth exactly as much as someone's willing to pay for it. Depending on your area, that can vary widely though. In my area that seems pretty spot on for a standard S, there's no jcw's around that i've seen.

There is an '05 listed in the marketplace, with about 20000 miles less than yours, for $8000. Will the seller get that for it? Only time will tell. Depends on how badly some potential buyer wants one, and how much they are willing/can afford to pay.

$5500 May be a good final agreed upon price but as a starting point I think you could start a bit higher. The miles do account a lot for the negotiation in price...even more so on a MIMI I feel.

call me crazy but $5500 seems rather low for a well maintenanced r53 with all repairs/maintenance history on paper. Guess I’ll just keep it LOL

Because you wanted it. I've been in that situation before where I absolutely had to have it no matter what. Problem is, that kind of buyer isn't an every day buyer. You could list it for what you want, and sift through all the lowballers and tire kickers until you get your "has to have it" buyer, or you can sell it to the buyer that offers low. But it's your car, shouldn't sell it for what you don't want to, unless you absolutely need to. If you want maximum value, you may want to consider trading in on your truck. but you'd need to buy a mor eexpensive truck than you may want buy.
