Driver side axle gap

Hey!

I'm reinstalling the axle shafts back into the getrag and the driver's side has a gap. Is this normal? I can't recall how it was before. Feels like the clip is engaged. I pounded on it with a mallet and it doesn't go in any more. Any one got a picture of theirs?

I just did mine a couple weeks ago and that looks normal to me. If you felt the clip seat and there is no play in the splines, I'd say you are good. There has to be some space there so the axle doesn't rub against the transmission case.
