Repairing stone chips on Aero bumper

I have been getting quotes from body shops to repair a pretty badly stone chipped aero kit bumper for my 06 JCW. One quoted me $750 and another $900. This seems crazy. They both recommended just finding a new bumper. The rock chips don't seem too bad but apparently it is a lot of man hours to sand it smooth. Anyone else dealt with a similar situation. I've seen some reproduction aero bumpers but I'm not sure of the quality. I'm planning on keeping the car for quite some time so it may be worth it to just bite the bullet.

Stripping and repair are a real pain for a bumper cover. They are probably quoting high to scare you off.

There are some decent quality copies from a company in Italy but I forget the name
