Geeezzzzz....I have tons of stone chips on my black mini. Anyone have any ideas? Too late for the laminex...Anyone know if that M7 Carbon Fiber Hood chips? IIf it doesn't maybe a CF hood and some other CF exterior mods might look nice...any ideas?
Or any pictures of any custom color bras? I have a black mini

Thanks

When my IB gets really bad...which it hasn't yet....I'm contemplating having the front end repainted and then putting on a clear bra. We'll see.

There are rock chip repair places. I used to work for a national company called Aero Colours.

My Jet Black/Jet Black MINI has about half a dozen or so small size chips in the front end of the bonnet where tiny stones have hit it at highway speeds. I live in Jersey, do lots of driving on the Parkway, Route 1, Route 195, and even the local roads...especially during the winter after the sand spreaders (more like STONE SPREADERS) put down so many stones...that get inevitably get kicked up by cars and trucks ahead of me...

It just seems like something about the very low stature of the mini's front end, combined with the down-draft forces over the bonnet, make it a MAGNET for stones. Combine that with the virtually 90-degree windshield angle (ok, I know it's not that severe, but it's a very upright windshield and it's also very LOW, unlike say, a Jeep windshield which is also about 90 degrees but sits very high above the hood) and...stone chips are inevitable.

You can always repaint it in a few years and it'll be good as...or better than...new. Or get the clear bra things that many MINI owners have. But anyway you're not alone with the stone chipped bonnet!

-Joe

I had the same problem with my VR MC. What I did was get one of the last bottles of VR touch-up paint and attacked the larger chips. I then followed it up with some Langka and you can't even tell where I have patched. Of course, it looks like I drove through a sand quary with all of the others, but it worked great on the larger spots.
