Anti-Glare Film for Instruments
There once was (maybe still is?) a product called InvisiLens which was/is a non-reflective cover for R53 tach/speedo:

I think it is a good idea as I've already experienced unwanted reflection.
My question:
I suspect that they sold just a standard anti-glare film cut to fit?
Will any of the regular film as sold for laptops et. al. nowadays do the same job?
I'm thinking so, but just wanted to get any experience and/or opinions.
Thanks.

It’s not a film, but anti glare coated acrylic that replaces the factory lenses. Cheaper anti-glare glass and acrylic is actually frosted and the gauges wouldn’t be clear because of the distance between the lens and gauge face. The lenses were originally designed by a forum member here on NAM.

I was going to order them, but read this and a couple of similar posts.

Not sure if he still has anything left, but I was finally able to get some lenses a few years ago for the NAV dual gauge pod the inventor had left over in his garage.

Many thanks for the response and details!
Your explanation clears things up for me, and the links provide much information regarding their construction and how the generic laptop films cannot really achieve the same effect.
Too bad the InvisiLens isn't available anymore, seems like it was a well-made and useful product.
