Congratualtions ! I wish I had the same good news, but for some reason my MA will not answer my e-mails or phone calls. I would think he should be contacting me soon to set up programming, etc -since the estimated delivery date to the dealer is this Sunday.

Mark,
Thanks for the full number. I saw reference to the 'ask.mini' but didn't know the full number.
I called today. We ordered on 11/11. Car is in paint, and suppose to be finished tomorrow, 11/30.
Now how can I find what ship she might be on? This sure helps make the time go by, having a 'support' group.

Thanks,

Keith

I'm in!!

Hey all,
Guess this is as good a time as any to say hi (only been lurking for months!)
I am scheduled for a week 49 build. Ordered it from Sarah @ Motorwerks Mini. Can not say enough nice things about her, could maybe even give Julie at Classic a run.
My three year old (tomorrow!) daughter picked the name for the new ride, "Betty Cooper". She now points them out whenever she sees one
Anyway here are the specs....
Blk w/white roof
S
Xenons
H/K
Sunroof
Std 16" whls
Chrome package
Anthracite headliner/dash
UJ's on side mirrors
BlkPanther leatherette
Heated seats
Aux Jack for the 'pod
Plus a STACK of mods sitting in the garage

So I order it from a dealer in MN, going to pick it up and drive it home to CO. In JANUARY!!
Good planning on my part.....

Does this mean everyone in this thread is a member of the freshmen class here at Mini U?

Kevin

FLASH2 is on the Freedom, due to dock in Charleston on 12/02. FLASH2 is halfway across the Atlantic right now; I hope he stays warm! My 2002 S should be sold next week and I should be able to pickup FLASH2 on 12/18!

Software Options List

My new Orange mini convertible should be here in 2 weeks. This is the hardest part of the wait. I was talking to a current mini owner and he said you need to talk to your dealer about some changes you can make to your software. He said if you don’t ask about this when you first get your car you will have to pay a fee to get it done later. Has anyone received this list? Any opinions of good settings to change? Thanks,

Tyler,
A convertible in CHICAGO in DECEMBER?! Yikes
If you haven't already you can download a manual (PDF format) from the Owners Lounge. Contained therein are some software chages that can be made.
Personally I am going to DEPROGRAM that auto lock thing, freaks me out. I feel like Mini captive or something as soon as those clamp down. I also might program the "follow me home" lights, where the lights stay on for a period after the car is shut off. That is if I can deal with everybody calling after you, "hey, your lights are on!"

Enjoy that car! Mine should arrive in January. I am jealous!!

Best regards,
Kevin

Congrats to everyone else who has picked theirs up or is about to do it!

I found out that Miki is on the Liberty sailing westward as we speak. Final destination, Orlando. I called dealer yesterday and he didn't think she had sailed yet. I told him I had input the vin into the ship screen and it showed she had her ticket, punched and had boarded. I hope the girls are behaving themselves. Hope she arrives before Christmas. Dealer said he thinks she will.

If Tillie sees Miki say hi. She will be sporting the Chili red outfit, with matching white strip. (For those captain dinners I suspect.)

Picking up Saterday

I am picking up my Orange Convertible on Saterday. Question to those of you who already picked up yours: Any thing you wish you had done/said/looked at before you left the dealers lot? I just want to make sure i do it right and dont miss anything.

Thanks,
--Tyler

BTW: I think this has been the longest week of my life. Who ever said the waiting is the hardest part WAS RIGHT

Telich, make sure you have your dealer programming done. If you come back later they will charge you for it.

Dawgbone hit the dealers lot last Saturday, but... I can't pick him up until the 1st or 2nd. I'm closing on my new house on the 30th so can't get the car until after that.

Ask for some free posters! I think I ended up with 2 of each.

Seriously though...make sure your programming is completed. I've got one thing that I should have changed while I was there. Specifically the auto unlock feature when the key is removed.

We picked up our LY/W MCS on Saturday. Took a nice road trip down to the Outer Banks. Managed to get 950 miles off of the break in period in three days. The car is better than expected, it was outfitted exactly as ordered, and my wife is ecstatic.
A big thanks to MINI of Towson for a great dealer experience.

She's been loaded on the boat!!!

Wohoo!
BettyCooper has been loaded on the Patriot!
To anyone who has received their 4 wheeled kids recently....
About how long did it take once the boat set sail to make it across the pond and through the distribution center?

This waiting is going to CRACK me!!!

Thanks!

Ordered on 12/1, it was finished on 12/13, got on a boat on 12/17 and is on it's way! They've got to put my aero kit on, so I think I'll have it by mid-jan.

CR/B
Black Bonnet Stripes
Standard wheels
Xenons
Fogs (front)
Aero Kit
Anthracite interior
Anthracite headliner
Space grey cloth

Got the call!

My MA called today to let me know that my MINI was just unloaded at the dealer, two days early. Woo Hoo!

They'll have it 'til Monday to throw on the bonnet stripes, driving lights, aero spoiler and aux input. After that it's all mine. (it's going to be a LOOOONG weekend)

If anyone stops by MINI of Peabody in the next couple of days and sees a lonely PW/B MC give her a pat for me, would ya?

useful ship tracking site

My MA told me the shipper, K-Line, and ship's name (Emden), and I lucked out since another NAMer who also happened to ship on the Emden some time ago, thoughtfully posted the ship's call sign (3ERP5) in (another) tracking thread...

I had already called K-Line 800 number, and the very helpful CSR didn't know what "call sign" meant... Anyways, a few "Google-seconds" later, I found this:

http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/index.html

Search is available by ship's name, call sign, or approximate location.

It appears that the cap'n & crew of the good ship Emden, spent Christmas at sea - gotta love their priorities (my chili red MCS among them). Anyone else on that boat, we're arriving in SC on 12/28 yes that'd be manana!

You guys probably already know about the site, but in the hope that it's useful, you know...

Happy Waiting,
Tatt
