Auto air/heat

Question. Yesterday when I started my 03 MCS with auto air/heat I had nothing. Everything except the air/heat worked. Would not turn on, fan would not start, no heat, no air, no defrost, nada....

I stopped and tried to check the fuse in a parking lot but did not have a fuse puller (manuel said it was there but I could not find it). Started up to go to the parts store and buy one. When I started it up again everything worked

What's up with that? Anyone else had this type of problem??

Earl

I have experienced this exact same thing last winter. Once I turned off my car and restarted, everything worked just fine. I informed my dealer of the incident and ensured they documented it on my service ticket for further reference.

There are at least two other threads on this subject that I am aware of ('ACC didn't turn on' - MINI Talk). Try using the search option to find out more using 'ACC' as the seach word.

As far as I remember, no one knows what is causing this and it doesn't seem to be an on-going issue. It's just a hastle to have to worry about or deal with when it occurs.

Earl,

I've had this same problem pop up a couple of times in the last 18 months. The first time was with the AC / Heater and blower. The second time the radio and dash lights were affected also. Both times I fixed the problem by turning off the car and restarting. This seems like some sort of computer glitch. Although I'm not even sure if these items are computer controled, but as its only happend twice in the last year and a half I've not not been too concerned.

The fuse puller is in there..its just tough to spot. If I remember correctly, its red, and is below the fuses...u have to yank it out with your finger tips.
