Molding coming off

Just got the Mini on Saturday. We drive home from Atlanta to Birmingham and notice the molding above the rear passenger side window has come unclipped. I was able, with a few choice words, to pop it back in but the solution lasted only a day. Has anyone had this issue? I did read one solution of glueing but I would rather have the dealership fix it since it's brand new.

You are right. Fix it yourself in 5 years, maybe, but let the dealer look at it now. Don't try to rig it either, the dealer may have to document the failure so leave it broke so they can look at it and fix it right. (...I had this happen to me once.)

I had a similar issue occur the very first day I purchased my mini as well. The molding atop the windshield became loose and began flying in the wind as I drove. I drove back to the dealer and they used some silicon adhesive. That fix last 3 months. After those 3 months I was traveling in the area of my dealer and called and they said they'd have a windsheld person fix it. They did and its been 2 good months so far, so good.

wow I keep hearing about mini's problems on these boards and it makes me worry...but so far 5 months strong and the only problems I've had are squeeky windows from the heat and a scratch down the side via my own bad driving (ugh!) none the less I'm glad I'm informed and if I have a warrenbty I will always abuse the dealer...they mess it up=they're fault...I mess it up=I'm S.O.L.

DOn't you wish you were little again a kiss from mommy and a band aid will cure anything and if for some reason that didn't work, use superglue!
