R50/53 Your thoughts?
I have an estimated production date of 12/22 for a MCS. This means that my car will be on the assembly line throughout the holidays. Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Years Eve...etc. the whole holiday fest. I'm counting on the talented people who put these together to be on top of their game (so to speak.)
Do you think the build quality will be effected one way or another because of the holidays?
Will the individuals be
a) distracted, hung-over, watching the clock, can't wait to get the hell out of there....or
b) bringing the love to the job.
I'm wondering if I shouldn't wait til January. Seriously.

The build date is more of a "build by" date rather than a "build start" date. So you car will actually be in the build phase during the two weeks leading up to your build date.
You know, I think it's possible to get too obsessive about knowing too much about when and how your car is built. Why not just let it go and accept that you'll get what you get...and it'll probably be just fine.
For example, why limit your concern to that associated with the holiday "cheer"? How about that assembly line worker who's worrying about a possibly cheating spouse...or a sick parent...or any other number of personal crises? Wouldn't that potentially impact performance, and how can you be sure that this isn't an issue while s/he is constructing your car?
Sorry for the possibly silly example, but you get my point. Just relax, and rest assured that you'll get a MINI like everyone else's. A few problems, but lots of fun to balance it out.
