R50/53 Are you carrying a spare tire when switching from runflats?

I'm curious if people are carrying the factory collapsible (?) spare when switching from 17" runflat tires to 16" or 17" non-runflat tires and/or wheels to obtain a better ride? .....and will switching to 17" non-runflats help nearly as much as switching to
16's? What does a factory collapsible spare wheel/tire cost, and is it necessary to also buy attachment hardware?
