Hello! I'm getting the 2096 code and I did discover that the clamp that secures the exhaust to the cat was loose.

Question is, would a leak BEHIND the sensor cause this code?

The cat repair weld seems solid.............

Hey -- I have an 04 r53 with 110k miles that I don't drive very often (5k miles a year). I think the stock exhaust may be rusting out or maybe just the shield -- but would an ebay exhaust do the trick in a pinch? I also don't want to spend 800 bucks on a car thats worth maybe 2k to the right buyer.

If an ebay exhaust could give me a few more hp and last ~2 years, assuming the rest of the car even makes it that long, I'd be happy.

I liked my ebay exhaust at first. It was easy to install and to me it sounded pretty good, especially compared to the crappy one ball that was on it.

6 months later I hate it :(

Everybody that said don't buy an ebay exhaust was right. The inside of the mufflers rattle badly. Can't hear it while driving but sometimes it's really loud and annoying while idling.

It was a waste of $225. I would try a local exhaust shop first if your just trying to get by for a year or two.
