R50/53 overheating r50
overheating r50
hey guy, i've got a problem I just bought a 03 mini r50. it seems the previous owner was a butcher because he did things to that engine I just cant comprehend,
I bought the car knowing it overheats. fine
I did all the checks and balances , bought new parts such as thermostat which the previous owner felt the need to remove because we live in hot climate.
new water pump new coolant sensor
I also realized the cooling fan came on simultaneously with the ignition switch when I asked about it he said the relay was bad. so he butcher the wiring harness to run the fan direct to ignition, which for some reason caused the a.c. to fail.
ok now I sorted all that out but now the fan isn't coming on time, if I turn the ac on the fan starts up and remains on but it should start at about 105 degrees but its not and I'm running hot at 95 degrees and coolant over flows from the reservoir .
I am trying to bleed the system but its not that easy and also I'm wondering if the resistor on the fan is bad
any suggestions or ideas?
