R50 Cabin Light Button (ceiling above front seat) issue
Hey guys,
I have an R50 that's going on 10 years old. I recently had the headliner replaced by a local auto upholstery guy since it was starting to sag, and after getting it replaced I didn't drive my Mini at night for about a month.
When I drove it at night again, I noticed that the cabin light button on the front driver's side isn't seated correctly. When I press it, the light turns on but doesn't stay on when I release my finger. If i press it too hard, the button comes out entirely.
The button itself doesn't look damaged, cracked, bent or broken in any way but I think it was an issue related to how the upholstery guy reinstalled the cabin light.
Does anybody know if there is a trick to fixing this issue? Can I buy a new button or cabin light for an R50 Mini if needed? I'm not even sure if they still sell the part as my car is getting pretty old.
Thanks for the help. The weird thing is I have the part and it doesn't look broken but maybe it is - or maybe it's the fixture. It's hard to tell, but it definitely does not stay in place. I'm going to go have a talk with the upholstery guy today.

So I went back to the upholstery place today. They had to completed disassemble the light fixture and re assemble it to make the button work properly. Nothing was broken, they just did a bad job about putting it back in after replacing the headliner.
So if anyone else has his problem the trick is to remove the entire fixture and disassemble before trying to re install the button.
