Hey y'all,
Quick question. In a bit of a pickle, I need to replace my tank and I was wondering if I need to flush the whole coolant out of the engine or if i can just replace the lost fluid assuming it's all a 50/50 mixture.

Just suck out as much coolant as you can using a turkey baster. Then replace tank. Put coolant back in, top off. You will be fine.

 

just replace what you loose with 50/50 mix. You just need to change the coolant every 4yrs.

 

When's the last time you did a coolant change? If you haven't done it, now might be a good time to do it. In general, it's recommended that you flush and clean out your cooling system once every 36 months, or approximately every three years. Otherwise, as the others stated, be sure to top it off and use MINI recommended coolant 82-14-0-031-133 50/50 with distilled water.
