NCS Expert vs Carly BMW wifi R50 justa

So here goes. I am quite frustrated which is probably my own fault. I downloaded all the NCS expert files. Followed the write up for the install of drivers and app. I get down to the section that says Navigate to “C:\NCSEXPER\DATEN\XXX” (where XXX is your chassis code) and run the “LADEN.BAT” file. Well this file doesnt exists. So that stopped there with NCS Expert. SO I ordered the carly wifi 2nd gen. got the full app. It connects to the car but I get a message " The connection has been established but the engine has not answered" So now im stuck with two avenues and neither work. Any experts out there willing to chime in and give me a hand?

Same experience I had with Carly on my E53. Was hoping for a portable solution...

I use AutoEnginuity as it is the only choice for licensed, supported software. Runs under current version of Windows. Needs a cable and a laptop. So, not so easy as wireless to the phone. And not cheap - about $200 for their interface and another $200 for the BMW/MINI specific extension package. But for that, you get someone to call if you have a problem.

I've been told "the Romanian" seller on eBay sells a reasonably compatible set of dis/inpa/ncs etc. but still bootleg and you are mostly on your own. And of course you have no idea what those virtual machines are really doing. Best to dedicate an old machine to that and not contaminate an important computer.

i could only see from Carly web page that the Wifi adapter Gen2 only works with R56 and newer.

1. Did the Carly Lite version work? If so it should work with the paid version.
2. Did you contact Carly?

I recently just got into NCS, where did you get your files from? cause I could potentially send you all the files needed, since mine works. I would be very surprised that the .bat file isn't there. your windows may not see it as a .bat and could call it an .exe or .cfg ...

see if you have any file named LADEN. also are you running on an XP machine?

I did contact Carly and no answer as of yet. If I can get NCS working I would rather go that route as it has more options to it. From other forums I have read the gen2 is suppose to work with the R50. With that being said, if I get NCS working and learn to do what I need to then I will have a brand new Carly gen 2 for sale.
