Airbag deployment is something you only want to experience once. Or anytime you can still walk away from the car. It is amazing and very scarry all at once.

Thanks so much for all the well-wishes and advise. Y'all are super!!

My Cooper is going to be resurrected in a few weeks in all its IB/W glory! The shop said that repairing the damage all involved bolt-off, bolt-on replacements...nothing worse than that. Externally, the whole bonnet, passenger-side wing, and bumper are going to be replaced...and even some interior bits due to the air bag deployment.

First thing I'm going to do after repairs, if all goes well, is get a clear bra installed. Didn't have this first time around and was picking up some small stone chips. With the front end freshly re-done, I think some protection is in order.

I'm a little stoked about getting my IB/W MINI back with its nice '02-'04 styling! Yay!

Great news, jds! So happy for you! At some point, I plan to get Wanda's Jet Black bonnet painted, and I, too, will install a clear bra. I should have done it to begin with, but took off the week after delivery on Roadtrip #1, and blew it! LOL! Again....great, great news!!

woo hoo! jds I am soooo happy your baby can be fixed! although i know that it sucks to have a "repaired" car that is relatively new, in all honesty you don't really want a new car if you TRULY love your MINI! That's how I felt at least! She's my one and only and getting her back after repairs was as good as if not better than getting a brand new one! besides, you have something special with that IB of yours. Let me be the first to initiate the collective sigh of relief...
