Soft windscreen whine

I know. This is an ancient problem. I'm just sharing my woes and seeking support from fellow brothers and sisters who have experienced the cracking windscreen. I have a 2004 IB/W MCS, April build, 6,000 miles on 'im. Just returning from a great drive through Napa Valley after a Harbin Hotsprings visit (look out for the "Wig and Snorkle Club")... anyway, crack began from the edge, bottom middle, now a few days later winding wonderfully across the bottom. In the early morning light of today's commute down 85 I could see other defects... ARGH!

It's SO soft, this glass! What IS UP? I've never experinced such fast pitting and cracking and they don't even sand the roads here!!!

PPG time? Still love the car, still amazed by the design and driveability. Still can't wait to get in for any reason and just go, the longer, farther, windier the better.

I guess the "new" OEM glass isn't actually an improvement...

Sorry, but yes, it's PPG time. 10K miles on my PPG glass and not a scratch or chip on it.
