Hi every one I'm posting here today because we just recently inherited a Mini Cooper s and we just got it back into running order and everything about tibia perfect, except for one or two things, like the door lock. Every time you get in the car and hit the lock switch on the console it locks the passenger and hatchback door but not the drivers, is this normal? Or is there a problem with the door lock? thanks!
It possibly could be the door lock actuator going bad. Take a look at this NAM thread here. You can test it to make sure that the motor inside is in fact not turning. Post #3 has a great DIY that may be of assistance for the replacement. Here is another thread on NAM that may be helpful and a DIY at post #8. Good luck!
When we get the chance we will give rebuilding it a shot, for now we are using it so taking it all apart isn't very easy, I wasn't sure if that's just how the lock was supposed to work. Thank you!
So I took off the door panels for some painting, and i decided to inspect the door locks but everything seemed to be perfectly fine, but the lock itself works perfectly by remote just not the indoor lock switch or manually pushing it
I think there is a sticky on the door lock problems here. It still sounds like it could possibly be the actuator. Make sure to inspect thoroughly and make sure that nothing is jammed.
