My right side seat belt quit retracting. Looking at parts there are 2 options

Part Number: 72117036902 Belt & retractor hatchback, w/o force limiter Right
Part Number: 72117073129 Belt & retractor hatchback, w/force limiter Right

Anyone know how to tell the difference? What is a force limiter?

Google: mini cooper with your vin# and put down retractable seat belt passenger, it will tell you what part# you'll need.
That's what I did when I thought my passenger side was broken also. Till one day I was **** and yank on it so hard it retracted back by itself.
lol Wasted $50 off eBay for a used one.

I typed the following into google,
"Mini Cooper {put my VIN# here} retractable seat belt passenger"

I get Your search - Mini Cooper {VIN#} retractable seat belt passenger - did not match any documents.

 

I got to thinking that it was in the VIN # somewhere,

NAM's decoder did the trick

It says I have force limiting.
