Hello folks, swapped the passenger engine mount today and while the car noticed some suspicious looking cracks on the oil pan surrounding the circular thing on the bottom.
I jacked up the engine using a piece of wood, and sadly there is a small divot in the wood to match the hex key thing sticking out of the circular standoff. I missed it when I was positioning the wood (dumb, I know). Even still, the wood was MDF and is pretty soft in general. I'd be surprised if the standoff took that much load.
That said, there are other marks on the oil pan that have similar appearance. Some are obviously raised, others (such as the ones near the circular standoffs) are not. I can catch my fingernail on all of them.
Some are obviously just ugly casting work, but the radial ones around the standoff make me a little uneasy. No oil is seeping out...so not sure what to make of them. Hoping to get a few opinions. Thanks in advance.

I have lots of lines like those on my mine. I think they are from the casting.
I'll try to post a picture for you to compare.
Why are you jacking there and not the frame crossmember just behind the oil pan?

You have to jack there for this particular repair because you have to lift the engine relative to the car to swap the passenger side mount. Originally Posted by David.R53

As it would turn out, it's just the casting. Shortly after posting this I hit it with some 400 grit sandpaper and took it down. They were ~ .010" deep. You can see this at 6 o'clock in the picture below where they started to disappear. My day went from good to bad to good.

Yes that is just the casting and is perfectly normal. Even the brand new ones have the same imperfections. Don't worry about it.
