In the July 5th issue of Autoweek there is an interesting article on Mitsubishi not covering a warranty item because the company discovered the car had been entered in an SCCA event. The article goes on to state that it is possible Mitsu is cross referencing names of owners with an SCCA membership data base that shows results of races with car types & names.
Other auto manufactures are also named in the article for cracking down on racing & warranty items, but MINI was not named.
