Yokohama YK580?

Is anybody running Yokohama YK580?
I've got a 2006 JCW that my past two sets of tires have been the 205/50/16 Extreme Contact Contis.

I live in central Florida so I like the Contis because they are great in the rain, however I only get about 30k out of them (just driving, no track days) and trying to find a tire that has great dry and wet characteristics but better mileage.

I'm considering the Yokohama K580, Kumho Ecsta AST or Pirelli P7

Tire Rack recommended the P7s but I understand they are squirrelly in the rain.

Anyone with any real world experience?

Thanks
Bruce

have those same yoko's on our company mini van, not very good dry traction and worse wet and this is a under powered chrysler mini van.

I have khumo AST's on my MINI now, very good dry and wet and look good too, very aggressive looking and lasting longer than conti DW's. Also had them on my 400hp TA.

30,000 miles is not bad out of a set of performance summer tires. I'm running Yokohama S Drives in 205-50-16. They work well in the rain, dry grip is pretty good too. As far as wear goes the jury is still out.

I just went through a set of YK580s, and IMO stay away from them. I honestly never felt safe in the rain, it was always understeering and many times would lift off oversteer. Dry traction was acceptable, noise was acceptable, but worst of all wear was very poor. I went through a full set, with proper rotation, in less than 20k.

Currently I'm running a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3's and they have fantastic dry grip and really good wet grip. I feel very safe while driving in the rain at 70+ mph, and braking performance is top notch on wet and dry surfaces. So far wear has been good in the last 4-5k miles except for my front right, which I believe is due to an alignment issue.

And, if its of concern, I believe they A/S3's actually gave me about 2mpg better, FWIW.

Thanks for the advice I'll steer clear of them.
