2005 pool?

Maybe we should start a pool to see who gets the first 2005? Am I correct in assuming that those on the East Coast have an advantage? Or will all those new Convertibles be rushed out to California?

As an aside. As the owner of a '61 VW Beetle Cabriolet, how many of you know the difference between a convertible and a cabriolet. I have heard the new drop-top Mini called a cabriolet, but is it realy?

I'll give the cabriolet scenario a shot. Doesn't it have something to do with the name of the material used for the soft top? I remember hearing something along those lines awhile back...

you say potato

If you can look up in your car and see the convertible top frame, its a convertible. A cabriolet has a multilayer top with an outside, padding, and a headliner. My Mercury Capri is a convertible, my '61 and '65 VW Beetles are Cabriolets. From what I have seen of the Mini, with that goofy section that rolls back like a sun-roof, its a convertible.
