R50/53 My one year 21k mcs experience
My one year 21k mcs experience
Ok so my mcs just turned one year and 21,000 miles.
Issues:
1. Cracked windshield on 1st week of ownership. While driving on the Long Island Expressway a pebble from a truck hit it and cracked it. My insurance company took care of it, no money out of pocket for repair. The worst part was waiting for the glass to arrive due to the rain sensor glass not been in stock in the U.S.
2. The stumble. BMW software fixed it.
3. Soft off the line, low power feeling. A 15% reduced pulley and an alta intake fixed that, thanx Eric at Helix13.
4. Driver side xenon would not light sometimes. BMW replaced the entire unit, fixed for good.
5. Spotted radio display in cold weather, fixed by BMW.
6. The leather on the driver seat is looking a little beat up. I should probably clean it.
7. The sunroof makes noise but only at partial open possition. Can't hear it over the radio so I don't care.
8. Have to stand back at lights so I can see them change to green.
9. Old ladies like it and want to ask all kinds of questions.
10. Women call it cute.
11. An suv driver I cut in front of in heavy traffic called it a faget car, I wish I could share my reply.
Overall my experience has been very good and its a fun car to drive.
I'm getting 30mpg on avarage, on long trips I've gotten as high as 33mpg.
My comute is 21 miles each way on rolling terrain, driving 65 to 75 mph.
I'm very happy and look forward to driving it for as long as it can be driven.
Happy motoring.
