I shot a few holes through the roof. It is much better now.
It really used to **** me off though.

I have a "lightinsight" lens and it is a massive improvement! My weblog entry has a couple of pictures:

Not sure about the 2-3week delivery thing. I just received mine two days after ordering.

Never has been much of a problem for me but the roof line can hide a light. Just don’t pull all the way up to the line or you will have to crane your neck.

Leave room and all will be fine.

I'll weigh in on the "Don't pull so far forward" camp.

2 years, 18,000 miles, no problems seeing stoplights.

My ceiling can't see the lights either.

Nice image.

You (or you'r camera) must be WAY taller than I am.

I have never had a problem seeing the lights because I stop about 12 inches BEFORE the white line near the crosswalk.

I can't speak for everyone, but I really don't think this is a real problem.

Hmmm ...
Maybe we need some scientific evidence.
Graphs showing height of driver, seat back angle, position of lights relative to stop line on road ...

Suffice to say, I sit with my seat very upright and round here there is a tendency to hang lights high in the air on wires instead of sensibly on poles by the side of the road like back in England. And I can't see the lights. The LightInSight helps a lot

There are a lot of variables like driver height, seating position, and the location of the stop light, which can all affect the view. The positioning of the stop light is different from state to state or even from city to city. Hence, it might not be a problem in one area, but can be a nuisance in others.

Mine arrived Friday, about three or four days after I placed an order. I'll find out how it works today.

The notice about three weeks on the website is either to avoid disappointment and inquiries after the first couple of days or to allow the owner to take long vacations whenever he/she feels a need to get away!

Sorry Trippy, but you're just dead wrong on this one. I spend much more time as a pedestrian and bicyclist than I do as a driver, so I am very conscientious about stopping behind the white line, staying out of crosswalks, etc. I'm only 5'9" and I have my seat cranked all the way down to the floor, but I still have to lean very far forward to see some traffic lights.

And God help you in Boston if you try leaving a couple of car lengths in front of you before the line. You get the same reaction from drivers behind you as if you had jumped out of your car with a screwdriver and started poking holes in their hood!

I'm "dead wrong" about my eyesight?

I'm not sure how I can be wrong stating that I can see the stoplights.

Wow,cars in Boston are much shorter than mine if staying back 12 inches is "several car lengths"

And God doesn't help Atheists (Ha ha)

That's where you're wrong. It is a real problem, just not for lucky you.

Several (MINI) car lengths is how much space I'd have to leave to see some of the lights here without leaning forward at all. I swear, some of them seem like they're three stories up and directly over your head!

My roommate is 6'3", and he told me that the traffic light visibility was one big reason why he couldn't see himself buying a MINI.

I spent 4 years in a Leased VW Beetle, I even lost a fight against a running Red light ticket, since it couldn't be seen going red from the bug. The trooper seemed very skeptical of my explanation. Luckily the magestrate knocked in down to impeding the flow of traffic.

Compared to that car, I have been ok with the view from the Mini. Luckily here in Michigan however, if I have pulled up to far, there is usualy another light, or 2, that I can see off to the side or across the intersection.

I received mine a few days after ordering.

I've already noticed the improvement in being able to see traffic lights (once I remember that the lightinsight is there). So far, well worth the $15.

main problem is that out here, if you don't pull up, many times you won't hit the pressure pads embedded in the macadam....and often they're in the crosswalk themselves, too.
