Bonnet problem???

Hey guys, just had a quick question. How much pressure should you apply when closing the bonnet? I read the manual and it says to let it drop about a foot. Tried that and I would hear the bonnet latch, but it wouldn't completely close. I was finally able to close when I gave it some force coming down. Should I bring this up with the dealer or is it just different with every other cooper???

My bonnet was hard to close at first, but was fine after a month or so .
I guess the grease in the latch needs to work in.I found the release easier also after awhile.Open it daily and give the motor a pat on the head

I just give mine a little push from about 8-10". My MA told me that not much pressure is needed, but to make sure both latches catch. I give the bonnet a short tug from the edges (just outside the racing stripes) to make sure both latches have caught.

Once I found my bonnet not double latched, even on the highway, the bonnet
was not vibrating,I,m thinking air is forcing the bonnet down
