Guys, credit for the development of this kit goes to c0op3r & Carlos of Condor Speed Shop. It's gonna be a reversible plug & play.

Stay tuned!!!
I will second the appreciation. This will be a great fix for a very dangerous issue. Hopefully condor can make these as fast as we buy them lol.

That's an understatement..I'm not sure how it would feel with a proper delete kit...but without the power steering pump functioning it was actually impossible for me to parallel park...you couldn't wrench the wheel hard enough to make the maneuver work...miserable week so I parked it until I could get the part shipped in.

Good luck

Wow - glad you made it out okay.

I guess you just assumed it was the power steering that started the fire since that's what went out first? Any other evidence?

Kahn, I've driven w/ a dead pump & I agree w/ you on how bad it was.
What this kit actually does is eliminate the pump, fan, looped hoses, most of the fluid & air off the system. A bit of fluid is left for rack lube. This significantly reduces steering resistance.
Da_Ghost initially did the delete w/ all the fluid & air left in & steering was hard. On his 2nd try, as advised by Carlos of Condor, he relieved most of the fluid & air off the rack & VOILA!!!! Steering resistance was BETWEEN a DEAD pump & a GOOD one!
Granted this will never give us the same steering feel, but if it's any consolation, the Miata & E30 owners actually consider PS delete an upgrade. We won't have to worry about leaks, burning circuits, busted fuses that takes the cooling fan w/ it, etc.
Thanks for the luck, but we'd need those dumbbells more!

2nd pump going out

I have an '05 MCS with 45k miles. The first pump went out at 15k miles and the second one is on its way now. Since my r53 was produced after February of 2005, MINI will not cover it...

If you call this number 1-888-327-4236...OR... go to http://www.safercar.gov/ and file a complaint, it may lead to an extended warranty for those of us who have r53's produced after the cut-off. It takes literally 5 minutes to do this. The lady I talked to said recently they have been getting a lot of complaints with this make and model and all of them had to do with the PSP!
