Off to the body shop I go

Well my 05 r53 is off to the body shop next week. Got popped by hail last week. Then yesterday was caught behind a truck. The whole front of my mini was peppered with gravel. Looks like a sand blaster got a hold of my car. Plus some of the side. So I get a whole paint job out of it. Will post pics tomorrow.

Yup, only 4 months old. Pitted the crap out of it. And the trim around the windshield. Plus my headlights as well. But im going to clean them up myself. So they can use the money on fixxing some other body damage. Say it will take about a week and a half to repair.

I'm sure you already know about it, but in case you didn't

rainx has a kit out for clay bar-polishing the windsheild, and while it wont fix a screwed up windshield, it certainly helped a lot on mine, which was hammered with super small rock chips like what's on your hood.

Damn man, that sucks, big time. My bonnet and front bumper are chipped to ****, so I'll get a few estimates on respraying those pieces this Fall.

Being directly behind big trucks always makes me uneasy. Whether it's a garbage truck that could spray my car with stinky, toxic spooge, or a covered dump truck that could throw who-knows-what outta the bucket (sand, rocks, garbage, metal refuse, etc.)...I avoid following trucks like the plague.

Hope your insurance will cover some of the cost if you have comp.

Update

Well stopped by the body shop today. They repaired all my hail dings, looks incredible. Hood and bumper are being repaired. They found some molding damaged by hail which they are replacing. Plus my lower left fog light was cracked, replacing aswell. She should be all done by next week.

Thought a clear bra was a waste of $ until I got my 06 with one. Highly recommend.
