i have a 2006 mc s auto. what prices should i expect to pay. im not talking dealer . the guy i talked to says the fluid is the same as a vw but it calls for a special tool.sorry new to the mc so i may worded wrong lol

 

If it was me I would use a good synthetic ATF fluid that meets the specs for the tranny. What type of special tool are you talking about? I think any good transmission shop that knows these type of cars/transmissions would have the correct tool. Price wise I would say $200 to get it done. But it really all depends if they plan to change the filter in the transmission. then I would guess it to be more. Hope that helps.. There is no special tool. Sounds like your guy has not done this before. There are flush / fill threads on this site. It would be good to read them. The real OE fluid is Toyota type iv spec 3309. You can get it at Toyota. Yes, there are synthetics out there too, but I used Toyota in ours. Changing fluid is good.
