I picked up my first Mini a couple of months ago - BRG '06 R53 with 53K miles. When I checked under the hood I noticed a strut bar with no visible markings for brand or part number. Did Mini offer a factory strut bar in '06?

 

There was a jcw bar as an option...but had lots of markings like most any "bling" factory part...
And many copycats.... Lots of private label and also no name e-bay ones....

It was a part you could pick up. looks like this. older JCW logo in the center and takes the special deep thread nuts. If it look different , must be aftermarket.
