2002 Mini automatic

A friend is having this issue with his mini. I would guess it is the fluid as his car has 140,000 miles on it though figured I would ask the experts...

Here it is in his words...
"What happened is when I take off the car drives good until I take my foot from the gas pedal when I use the brakes then it seems like the gear get stuck or doesn't change until I push the gas pedal then it goes to normal and usually it does that to me on the highway!"

Has he signed up for the mini class action lawsuit on the tranny....it is a CVT and very troublesome... So much so mini settled (in the us).....
The ending date is very close....about now...plus or minus a week.......

 

Its a 2002 so it would not matter. They were very tricky in how they set it up. The ones with the problems don't get any money.
