Been looking for a car for my son. Found a '06 s convertible. The only issue with it is when you let out the clutch in 1st gear it lets out a chirp. After that everything is fine. They said they had taken it to the dealer twice and were told it was nothing. Car has 78K miles. Really nice car except for the noise. Any one have any previous experience?

Thanks,
Bill

it could be a slightly glazed flywheel, or your tires

Chewbacca howl. If it only happens at startup and there's no slip, then it's annoying but not pressing. Glazed plate, as mentioned above.

Mine did that for a few months, then started slipping in 4th, then 6th. Then I dropped $2500 on a new clutch and flywheel. Maybe it's nothing but it wouldn't be a bad idea to start saving up and shopping for a clutch.

Could be the belt tensioner... Mine did it until I changed the belt, and it stopped?
