Hellllllo Mini Community!
So I've posted for the past few days asking questions about prospects; ended up spending a bit more than i wanted to but got the car I wanted.
2005 Mini Cooper S - 96K miles
It was a 1 owner car always serviced by the dealer. Carfax puts it at Retail Book Value + $920; i paid $6,200 for it! Well, plus the shipping to CA from IL so I'm in it a grand total of $7,000.
The Carfax shows it's had O2 Sensors replaced by the dealer @ 40K
Engine mounts replaced at 54,000
Brakes at 59,000
Frotn Strut bearings, Valve Cover Gasket and Power steering pump all done @ 70K
So far, it seems to have led a nice, reliable life. I'm hoping I made the right choice as I hear the 2005-2006 Minis are nearly bulletproof as they were the last year of the supercharged version so most of the bugs were worked out and i know the 05 was the first year of the 6-speed getrag. I am arranging shipping tomorrow and should see the car in a week or so. Excited to make my 2006 F250 (I'm in the offroad industry) a weekend driver and drive the car I've wanted since i first saw the Italian Job.
