TPMS will not reset, 2005 MCS

After trying to re-initialize the system the light remains on.

How far must I drive so the TPMS can "learn" the new tires ? I have tried many times and driven many, many kilometers.

Tire pressure are even and accurately measured. Sensors are fine.

Are there issues with certain tire sizes ? I have 15" Imola rims with Micheline X-Ice 195 / 60 - 15 with 34 psi

The summer set did not trigger the light. Size 205/50-16 Pirelli on ASA AR1.

Thanks for any advice you may have.

I usually turn the key on, and don't start it. Then hold the little button down by the parking brake for about a minute. Turn the key off. I usually wait a few seconds, then start it it. The light should be off. It never worked for me to press the reset button and go, the light would stay on. Give it a try.

Is there a chance the button is stuck down in the "pressed" position?

My dog and kid have both pressed mine, causing the utton to stick and the light to remain on. I documented a process on how to pop it back out, if you search here on NAM.

Thanks. I investigated both suggestions but the light remains on.

Did you ever figure it out? I have the same issue. I'm thinking the ABS sensor may bad.

I must be jinxed... My light is coming on now as well. Weeks after my summers went on. It comes on, I reset it and it comes on again anywhere from 3-20 mins later.

What sensor does it read from? Is it just the ABS? Is the ABS sensor in the passenger rear?

I think it senses when (one?) tire is rotating at different speed (or different circumference thinking it's low on pressure) vs what the drive wheels should be turning at.

Just to update all interested parties. My issue has been resolved. It was in fact related to the ABS cable. It wasn't bad cable but in fact as loose connection at the ABS module itself.
