R50/53 Tire recommendations
Tire recommendations
Hi all. I am looking for a good street/sport/race tire to replace my Hankook Ventus K104s. The K104s are no longer available so I am looking for a good tire that is $300 or less that can last 15k - 20k miles and can handle sporty driving and provide good grip. Your recommendations are welcome along with your comments on the recommended tire.
Not sure if you mean $300 a tire, which sound like a lot, and wouldn't exclude any tires. Or if you mean $300 for a set which would exclude everything.
For $300 a tire for street use, I like Continental DW tires. They're pretty good in the dry, the best in the wet and also very comfortable (if that's a concern). For something more extreme I use Bridgestone RE-11 or RE-11A (if available) as my track tires. The best there is in the dry, pretty good in the wet, but the ride and noise goes to hell.

follow up...u have a 2013!? I hated MINI after the 2006 models. Am a true and blue original 2nd gen guy. My MINI has only 22900 mile on her!!!!! I have had her in Korea for 10 years. When I bring her to the Phils will just be a show and go car anyway......

I'm one who will vote for the Continental. I like the Avid Envigors too, not too sure how much longer they'll last though, almost 20,000 on mine.

Look into the Niito Motivo tires. I had them put in my Mini back in January and love them.
