Starter or Battery?

Hey guys ive been noticing recently that when i go to start my car when its cold, it sounds like the starter motor barley has enough to get it going, but it gets it everytime....

it starts within 2 sec everytime, no misstarts or anything, but it sounds like its out of steam

im not sure when the battery has been replaced, ive had it since febuary. but once the car has been moving and i go to start no prob, doesnt have the same effect

0-40 mobil 1, roughly 500 miles in it just for reference

Check for a date code on the battery. If it's OEM, it'll be stamped on top of one of the terminals. Then get it load-tested. Most auto stores will check it for free. Use a voltmeter to check alternator output while running. Should be around 14V+ (at higher rpm than idle).

Slow crank = battery...most of the time...
One case it might not is....I have seen starters that are either severely worn or had been used to crank a non starting car way too long....meaning the starter overheated....then might crank slow...
But 99% of the time...battery and or connections, cabling AS LONG AS the charging system is ok.
