Traded in a '99 Mitz 3000GT. What a dog of a car. Before that, had a '89 Ford Probe GT Turbo. I loved that car and had it 12 years. Drove it all over the US and in Europe for 6 years with zero problems. I never felt good in the Mitz.

I feel like I'm home again in my MCS.

Lease on a 1999 Audi A4 1.8T expires in February.

Ordered MCS to replace it. The MCS has more horsepower, less weight, and overall better performance.

Plus, the MCS is unique. D@mn VW for putting my beloved 1.8T in every box on wheels they make.

Just handed over the keys for my 2002 Saab 9-3 to my mother-in-law. Am I crazy? We'll just have to wait and see. I'm driving around in my wife's floaty Inifinity QX4 in the mean time. She keeps b#*ching about me always readjusting the mirrors and seat and I keep b#*ching about having to readjust the mirrors and seats. This is a no win situation that won't be alieviated until my Liquid Yellow MCS with Lapis is delivered in the next couple of weeks. It's onboard a ship (probably in the Panama canal) as I write this.

Happy motoring to all. Congrats to those of you already motoring about.

J.

Gave up the trusty old 81 Accord, 225,000 almost trouble free miles. Yes... quite a transition to a modern automobile. Keeping my 1968 Datsun 520 Pickup. So I have my Sport Vehicle (Mini Cooper) and Utility Vehicle... But no Sport Utility Vehicle. (My wife has a Honda CRV, a vehicle lacking in personality) If my Mini lasts like my old Accord, my next vehicle may need a "lift". The Mini is not my everyday commute vehicle, and it gets garage storage. I hoping for a long and troublefree life.

Sold my 2001 Ford F350 ext. cab 4x4 xlt Lariat to my Dad and got my MCS. That truck is awesome, every available option, plus I put in GPS, lift, custom bumpers, winch, lights, 330 hp diesel with over 700 ft lbs! He borrowed while I was out of town, and when I returned, he had to have it. So I went from really big.....to really small.

My pride and joy one owner white 1985 Nissan Pulsar >200K miles finally gave up and died. Even the state charity organization turned it down. Finally found someone interested in fixing it up. They gave me $175 for it. I thought I did pretty well on the sale.

My journey started with a 65 Mustang (bought in '95 sorry guys I'm a young'n) then went to a heavily modded 99.5 Audi 1.8T (300hp+, what a fun car), 2001 4 runner Limited 4wd (depressing not being a sports car but I needed it for work), and if it ever gets through VPC '03 MCS DS/W sport, and premium. I'm letting go of my 98 M3 Sedan. A great fast car with a chip and cold air box. I guess I've just gotten bored. I've got a real car problem having owned many sports cars, mostly German. This MINI thing just looked like to much fun to resist.

1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse. 100,000 miles. Almost fun to drive but overall a piece of crap. Looking forward to my 2003 MCS.

Jay

p.s. Anyone want to buy a 1996 Eclipse with 100K? The dealer already told me that he wouldn't give me squat for it in a trade-in.

We were going to allow our 1985 Chevrolet Celebrity Eurosport with 200,000 miles (300,000 km) to go into semi retirement as university transport for our 18 year old. This would have enabled me to use the old girl on the worst travel days, IE leave MCS at home every time it snows.

Unfortunately the Eurosport met an untimely demise (spelt T-boned at intersection, no injuries) there was no way the insurance company was going to spend 4 times the value of the car to repair it. The "we've had it since new" arguement was not effective, so it was insurance provided Neon for the last 2 weeks of the wait for MiniB.

Hope so. I'll be selling my 1991 Honda Civic base hatchback, which should have about 94k on the clock by the time my 2003 MC rolls in next April or May. Faithful and friendly but it's been in the family 12+ years and it's time to upgrade.

Wife and son will continue to tour the suburbs in their ultrasafe '99 Volvo V70AWD wagon.

I am trying to decide whether to get rid of 1996 Saab 900S with 82,000 miles or 1976 BMW 2002 with 120,000 miles. The wife insists that one must go before the arrival of the Mini in January. I may put a for sale sign on both of them and see which one goes.

Sold my baby last August: 92 Accord EX 5sp w/ a 2.2 DOHC VTEC engine from a Prelude, and all the usual bolt on and suspension mods. Also had full sound system w/3 tv's and dvd. I miss that car! Bought a $500 subaru legacy to use in the meantime which I'll probably keep as a beater.
