R50/53 painted toggle rings
Wasn't too difficult. I removed the rings by removing the switch panel first, then the face of the switch panel. I pushed the rings out from behind.
Hardest part was sanding them down so the paint would stick, breaking that shiny finish. I used a can of Testor's model paint in a chrome color and a wet look spray. (Like I said, not the best painter)
I would recommend getting straws, long ones, and paint the rings individually. I tried once before several weeks ago to paint them, but because they were too close, the paint attached like dust on some-not to mention the fact that I didn't sand them. Cut two slits in the straws and the rings will fit, it will look like the letter "P". Also, because they were small, I did like 4 coats of spray, barely adding color to each coat.
Wife loves them and I think they look pretty good!
