add me to the list of interested in a Wing Tip Extension (R53 spoiler)

if you ever make some reasonably priced diffusers for the R53 (with straight central exhaust and battery relocate), I'd be in for that, too. Diffusers don't even have to be carbon - just functional and not melt away.

Best option would be to get a lighter one and install it where it was, just a bit higher.

mmm ok i'll look into it...
I have an Optima Red Top sitting on a bolted plate right now while I make my mind on the battery that I'll choose since I'm going the "straight" exhaust way, so I'm not too worried about it.

regarding battery - look at the photos on this page - there are many others who have done this

I'd use a smaller Optima battery, higher up, possibly right above the current location. There are a few R56 exhaust in r53 thread on this forum as well where you can see similar solutions. Main concern is that it's louder than most systems unless you get creative with resonators, etc. If you can handle that, you just cleared up the space for diffusers.

On the other hand, I think diffusers have very limited effect beyond the looks and you can get this stuff already for $600 at Group 4, or one can pick up an R56 GP2 kit for about $400 if it doesn't have to be carbon.

I honestly probably advise against making a diffuser for a straight back exhaust. I don't think that there are enough people using that setup to make it a profitable investment of your time and resources. Stick with stuff you know everybody can use if you want to make the most money.

obviously this is for the R56, since the R53 has a muffler in that space until you modify it. It will fit nicely once you do.

And in any case, you will need to modify the bumper cover, too. Like I said, there won't be a lot of people looking for this mod, as it requires a pretty radical change to the way most run their R53 exhausts.

Hard to tell but if it's the size of the one on the right that's a good size.

Are you thinking, smooth inlet for the scoop, or one with grooves, like the one pictured on right?

How would rain intake be with that one? Maybe a channel on the side for the CAI?

Can you close in the sides some, like the M7 one. It has to catch the air and force it into the IC.

Think more along the lines of a velocity stack...

sides definently need to be closed, it may be too big for me, no need to have a parachute up front, i do dig the design however

Yup, I agree with closing in the sides a bit to guide the air in. I do like the higher design tho. That would look awesome in carbon fibre.
