R50/53 Anyone ever have to have their sc rebuilt?
This is a precision job that needs to be done very carefully. Take off too much metal, or in the wrong place, etc., and even though you made a larger volume of space for air to run through, the whole thing can be easily fubard because the velocity of air decreases if its not done right. This is measured on a "flow-bench".
Porting is slightly polishing the insides of the places where air goes in and out of the engine, removing the ridges from casting marks etc, so that the air can flow better. I never thought of doing it to a super charger, but had always seen it done to the intake and exhaust ports on cylinder-heads, as well as intake and exhaust manifolds.

I would agree that these guys are great. I had mine done a year ago and have put over 30K on it since, runs better then ever
