Is it possible to get something other than the outside temp on the digital readout at the bottom of the tach ('02 R53, no nav)?

How great would it be to have a digital speedo (or oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, voltage, etc.), there?

 

I've heard of people retrofitting the OBC, which can give you MPG, MPH, but no way you're going to get a custom gauge there. You'd need a new stalk with the toggle switch, and some programming.

 

In later cars, turning on the obc was easy...but in the older cars, it is a seperate part...so the retrofit would be involved, and kinda $$.
Many folks mount a scanguage2 ....does exactly what you want, and doubles as an obd2 reader.
