R50/53 Ordered our MINI!

Hi everyone. I posted a couple of weeks ago, before my husband and I went on a road trip to test drive the MINI.
I told him he was going to like it, but I don't think he believed me
. After we got on the freeway, he kept saying "this is not an economy car, it's a sportscar?!?!" (like he couldn't believe it). Needless to say, he liked it. So, we decided to order ours.
After much discussion, the details were ironed out, and we placed the order on Saturday (MCS IB/W) and got our production number the same day. According to ASKMINI, production should be complete during Week 20. In English (the American version) what does that mean? Could someone translate?

You are going to love your new MINI. However, you need to start calling it "MY MINI" instead of "OUR MINI" so your husband does not get the wrong idea that he will ever get to drive it
Week 20 will be the 20th week of the year. My guess after looking at the calendar says that it will be built around May 20th. So you can probably expect to get it about a month or so later!

Congrats... Its a long wait, but there are ways to track it. Do a search on this site about tracking your mini... there are lots of posts on it.
For me it took 98 days from the time I placed my order until I drove it off the lot. My MINI sales advisor had my MCS put into the show room. So I drove it out of the showroom floor and motored on down the street. It was a great experience.

That's what I figured, but there seemed to be some controversy about which week was which (now that's a tongue-twister!) on some other boards.
I'm in B'ham, too. Another Alabama MINI (at least until July when we move to Idaho).
Unfortunately (for me) it has to be our MINI--since it's going to be my husband's "work car". But I get it on the weekends :smile:
