This kind of BS is why I no longer support them. I stick with Way or RMW now. I'll buy their stuff second hand but this kind of condescending crap is not how you run a business.

I've had nothing but great luck with Way Motor Works.....they are my go-to place when it comes to MINI performance parts.

I have also had good experience with Way...and ECS tuning is in the mini game now..they have been around for AGES in the VW/Audi game and provide incredible service. Both way and ECS are contributors to the forum and try to share knowledge and help .... Any auto parts group who doesn't offer more than parts should be whole sale only - TRUTH...

Outrageous shipping charges

In spite of the warnings, I really want to order some parts from this outfit, but these are the quoted shipping cost for a swaybar and pressed in control arm bushings!

Please choose the shipping method for your order:

UPS Online (Ground) $59.91
USPS (Priority Mail) $69.68
UPS Online (3 Day Select) $125.92
USPS (Priority Mail Express) $157.05
UPS Online (2nd Day Air) $176.48
UPS Online (Next Day Air Saver) $241.95
UPS Online (Next Day Air) $253.46
UPS Online (Next Day Air (Early AM)) $284.59

Is it me, or is this to expensive! Shipping is to PA.

Call them they can work it out for you. Unless they ship stuff directly from china and bill you for it.

What could they Possibly have that Way Motorworks, ECS or any other reputable vendor doesn't have or couldn't get for you? Don't do it - sway bars and pressed control arm bushings are not rare items.

For a car other than a MINI, I had a place charge me $20 shipping for a part that was the size and weight of an old cassette tape. I knew of no other place that carried it, so I had to pay. This part cost around $200, and they charged for shipping by cost of the order, not size and weight, to me it made no sense. They could have stuck it in a shipping envelope and sent it for one or two dollars. They are a big specialty dealer, and seem to have a decent reputation, but that gave me a bad first impression of them, and they are always towards the bottom of my list when I'm looking to buy parts.

Point is, places that don't offer good customer service might make a little extra in the short run, but they lose in the long run. I've bought literally thousands of dollars worth of parts since then - roll bar, wheels, tires, shocks, springs, sways, gauges, aluminum radiator, and so on, and even though they carry almost all of those things, the only things I bought from them were some small items I couldn't find elsewhere. Fortunately the parts were inexpensive, so they didn't rake me over the coals again.

I want to thank you all for your assistance! I'm new to the Mini family and trying to figure out what to get and where to buy can be challenging.

Let me say that my question about shipping charges from Madness Motorworks was never intended to be a knock on their company. From what I can see, their products look like good quality stuff! As far as customer service goes, I just got off the phone with George, (he called me) and he was really helpful and tried to "make it right" as far as the shipping charges. I was pleased with our conversation and will order from them in the future. I'll call to make my order first! George seems like a nice guy that is genuinely concerned and responsive to his customers (potential and actual)!
