R50/53 Shop manual
Anybody know if there is a shop manual out there yet? I am 300 miles from the nearest dealer and would like to take care of the small things myself (replace bulbs, fix rattles, check sun roof drain, etc.) I've had an MGB for 32 years so I think I can handle most things - except electronics. It would be nice to know more about where things are, how they work, and how to get to them.
Apparently not. check this thread for more information

My understanding is that BMW is very strong about making sure that its shop manuals stay within the BMW dealer/authorized service center network. The copies you can buy off of eBay are illegal copies...just something you may want to know.
Chiltons manuals are created by independent mechanics who actually tear down and rebuild whole cars...and as good as they are, there are certain things that they just can't replicate w/o having access to the "official" service manuals that BMW won't distribute.
Sort of stinks for those of us who want to get mechanically intimate with our cars...but BMW's been trying to tell its owners not to do that for some time now.
