Dude - MINI dealers need to give away nothing. I'm surprised you;re not getting charged over MSRP. My wife just bought a Subaru Outback thing. Came with all bells and whistles like power this/that/next thing. Best thing was...they threw in a auto dimming mirror (well, installed it actually), a doggie gate thing, a tow hitch (fitting was an extra $200) and free services for 5 years.

If I was the skeptical sort, I'd swear blind that MINI dealers are raking it in without offering any kind of human touch...like floor mats. Who the hell ever heard of paying for frikin' floor mats?

Momentum don't have the best reputation going around. They turned their back on me because I called them on the $350 dealer prep fee. IMHO the dealer prep is nothing but wash/wax/make ready. If they didn't do it, they'd soon hear about it from MINI, so paying for it was just not on. MINI of the Woodlands were much cheaper.

I bought my MINI before MINI of the Woodlands existed, unfortunately. And I also called out momentum on that surcharge that they claimed would cover a loaner car if i ever needed warranty work and a free wash (thanks but no thanks) every time i needed service. PUH LEASE. I told them forget it, i dont need those things. But they would not drop that charge. It was either pay the $350 or give up the MINI. So I took my MINI and bit my lip. Believe me, she's worth it.

I'm glad there's another dealership now to put Momentum in their place.

>>I forgot!!! I also got a set of wheels, gold plated floormats, two, count them two silver custom mugs (worthless, the coffee tastes silvery), had to pay for the 19" tires for the wheels though but the also thrrw in the mounting and balancing. Free car washes for life and......I lie like a bear rug....... Is basketball on??? I'm off to watch basketball......

And to add to the TRUE total, I am at the dealership the other day (name withheld to protect the innocent, but someone from there has another thread on this forum today) when I run into my friendly sales guy (I'll call him ole J for short). so ole J says hi, remembers me (hasn't seen me since October), anyways, as I am leaving I jump out of supertruck and go over to him to ask "D'you remember you used to have some very nifty "OH" european type stickers?" He says...."let me look into it", makes a call, no joy..... "I'll check" he says.......right I say, thanks, bye.
Guess what showed up last night in my mail box??? Two of them........

Well, I don't have the car yet, but so far, I have gotten The Italian Job DVD, and I know that I am getting the rubber floor mats that I wanted, and a full tank of premium gas.

The real challenge will see if I can get them to throw in something else, but from the sounds of it, I will be pressing my luck...
