Well, I ordered my mini in January and waited. I watched the car go through all the production stages. I even watched the ship take it's sweet a$$ time across the Atlantic. I finally took delivery of the car on March 22nd. Drove it for two days. Then I lost the mini...I think for ever. I had to take my wife's car to get her flat tire repaired, so she took my mini to work. That was 2 weeks ago. She's having such a great time with the car, I don't think I'm going to drive it any time soon. So here I am, stuck with a station wagon while she tools around in the car I designed, and waited for. My first new car lasted 2 days.

Alright FenwayFan, you've distinguished yourself as a very giving man.........

That said, you've got to get possession of the MINI keys! I'm all about sharing--but a MINI for the wagon. I think it would honestly make me cry!

Yes, I think another MINI is definitely in order. Maybe she'd be interested in designing and ordering her own special MINI...just the way she wants it? On the other hand, if you really want your MCS back, get the next MINI with a JCW kit....'cause you KNOW she'll take that one next!!! Oh I'm so clever!!!

If I had the ***** to admit that my wife is taking over operating my car, I first would use that same part of the groin to get back what's rightfully mine, before it got outta control. Now if it was meant as a car for both of you, well then you can't really complain that much. But if it is truly YOUR car and you do ACTUALLY want it back, step up and and let her know who's daddy.
I never have let a female get in the way of me driving my car, putting money toward my car, or anything to do with MY car. May let her drive my car every now and then.........possibly, but would never let it get to the point of that. That's pretty sad.
You can't do something nice for someone and then whine about it after. You just made your wife look like a brute...amongst other things. It's not really fair to your wife if you throw her the keys and then tell everyone that she's taking over, that you lost your car, you're not going to get it back, you're stuck with a station wagon, and so on, while her back his turned. You're the one allowing her to use the car. You pretty much just admitted to getting beat up by a girl, man. , and trashed your wife. You may wanna check down the front of your shorts to see of you still have anything there.
Cheers,

Women do have a way of getting their way. I bought her a nice blue MCS, and before too long she had me driving it. I guess I made out on this one. Now the car has some incredible mods on it, and she's happily driving a little Ford.

She took a car from me once too, but it was just an AMC Spirit.

But I'm almost sure that I would lose my MINI if I bought CVT...

Happy Motoring!

My girl totalled my Lexus (automatic). Then I bought the MCS (manual) because she can't drive a stick! Problem solved! Not really, she found out recently that the MINI is available with the automatic.....after I so carefully told her they were only made in manual!

fenwayfan,
You have to put your foot down! I had the same problem with my husband when I got my MCS. I took him to test drive it before I made my final decision, and he said "it's okay". But when I actually got the car, he was driving it every chance he got. One night after I went to bed, he put over 100 miles on it! That was the end of that.

Trust me, you have to nip this in the bud right away!! Good Luck!
