Hi! i'm planing on having Viper 690XV alarm installed on my MCS the issue here is here in mexico it is hard to find someone to do the job. (Even to get the alarm which i'll bring from US) well what i plan to do is install it myself. I have installation instructions from Viper and service manual for MCS. Before i do all this, i'd like to have advice, resons not to do it, any suggestion?
Estra info i'm an electronics engineer so not totally new and this would be plus the alarm that comes installed from factory with the mini

i have the 690xv installed on my cooper s. I have no complaints. The only thing is the little remote is really costly if you lose it or break it. its a great alarm and if you know what youre doing then the install should only take a few hours. It took me and my friend 3 hrs to install.

 

I have the alarm installed as well. took about 3.5 hrs to install. Be aware the that the body control unit is mounted on the right side of the car near the bonnet release. also becareful around the ignition. you do not want to disable the wrong thing... It would be a pain to clip the immoblizer wire and not be able to start your mini to take to the dealer..I agree with Jive... make sure you know what youre doing. Why are you installing that on top of the factory alarm??? looking for a lot of coverage... if someone is going to steal the mini-- they will hook it up on dollies and tow it...

Ps to avoid that (tow on dollies)... turn your wheels all the way to one side....
