I have looked at the forum posts about this and found that you can use a cable tie to fix it? but I dont get where people are applying the cable tie?

Where does the cable tie go on the mechanism?

I'm not sure about the cable tie, but mine stopped working so I ordered a new one from Penske parts and it was under $25.00

 

Im not sure that will fix it as it seems more like its the cable that is at fault, hard to tell. How are you going to reinstall the cable? I can see part of it on the mech slides out, but it has a bobble on the end? How are you going to get that back on when you remove it? I'd buy a new one if I knew how that part will go back on, but I dont see how it does.
